While you Wait 4 The Hue
Ok while you wait for the Hue to arrive, check out the how they do in New Orleans. The Hue is all about bringing different cultures and styles of art together. Well heres some dope youth culture form New Olreans, Louisiana. If you havent seen the Nola Bounce style of dance or heard the music, you are missing out. Its like 3ball mixed with old 1980′s booty bass hip hop from Miami, FL mixed with freestyle and techno. If you threw that all in a blender you get a mix from Gotti Boi Chris or Big Freedia that makes any one within earshot wanna shake their booties all night. The dance style includes alot of booty shaking and poopin and locking super fast with jerk like moves and what almost looks like shuffling at times.Peep the popping and locking sped up frenzy that is taking place down south with the NOLA …NO, LA Bounce.
Its a great blend of cultures thats being set up as always by youth taking the old and reworking it. Another cool aspect of this is the innovators, MCs and a good amount of producers of NOLA Bounce music like Sissy Nobby and Big Freedia are bringing us this culture straight out of the gay community. With all of the Homophobia being pushed in popular hip hop culture its awesome to see a new extension of hip hop culture put those biases aside. Not to say all is where it needs to be but check out this article to read more about New Orleans tradition of gay performers and how NOLA Bounce is giving a national audience to gay and transgender rappers.
